What are Tags and Labels?

This section explains Tags and Labels, a new feature for Version 22. Tags allow you to add tags to elements in the design. These can be used to display layers of differing designs within one plan file, meaning you can display different alternatives with the click of a button. Labels are used to annotate plans and help identify points of the design such as electrical outputs, plumbing etc.



Click ‘Tags’



The 2 default tags are Base Unit and Wall Unit. Anything added into the design from Base Units will appear in this list, and the same for Wall Units.



To or add your own tags or delete tags you have created, select ‘Click to manage Tags’.

Please note, that the default tags, cannot be removed.



To delete a tag, select the Tag and click ‘Delete…’ 

To add a new tag, select ‘Add…’



Enter a name for the new tag and select ‘OK’



The new tag will appear in the list on the left-hand side



The units added into the design will be tagged with the default tags



To change tags from one tag to another, highlight all the relevant items, right click on one of them and select ‘Change Each Item’s Tag to’. From this menu, select the new tag



To add another tag to an item, highlight all the relevant items, right click on one of them and select ‘Add Tags’. From this menu, select the chosen tag



To remove a tag from an item, highlight all the relevant items, right click on one of them and select ‘Remove Tags’. From this menu, select the tag to remove




Visibility: This icon changes visibility. Clicking this icon will hide the items with this tag from the design


Selection: This icon selects everything in the corresponding tagged list. This can also be used to move items, or change materials


Add Selection: Use this icon to select multiple tags


De-Select: Use this icon to deselect tags



To add labels into the plan, select Base Units and type ‘Text’ in the commands box



Enter the text into the box and select ‘OK’ to add into the plan. Font, style, size and colour can be changed by clicking ‘Select font…’



To edit a label – Select it and click the F1 key on the keyboard

To delete a label – Select it and click the Delete key on the keyboard



Labels can be also be tagged. Select the desired label, right click it and select ‘Add Tags’. Choose the desired tag from the list



Add arrows/lines into the design alongside labels to annotate the plan. Select Base Units and type ‘Line’ in the commands box



Choose between an arrow or a line, normal or dotted. Thickness and colour can also be altered.

To add the arrow/line click ‘SET’. Left click and hold the mouse at the starting point, drag the mouse to where it needs to end and let go of the left click to end the drawing


To edit an arrow/line – Select it and click the F1 on the keyboard

To delete an arrow/line – Select it and click the Delete key on the keyboard



Arrows/Lines can be also be tagged. Select the desired arrow/line, right click it and select ‘Add Tags’. Choose the desired tag from the list
