Customising Units (BedCAD)

Customising Units (BedCAD)

Customising a unit allows you change the door range, handle and handle position for an individual unit. It also allows you to split the door/drawers.

By customising a unit, BedCAD recognises it as special, so if you then make changes under the options in ‘This Design’, any customised units will not update.

The Customise Dialog
Double click on the unit you’d like to change and select the ‘Customise…’ button:

Select the door you want to use:

Double Door Units
BedCAD will automatically split the doors once the unit width exceeds the ‘Double Door Threshold’. This can be found ‘Special’ - ‘Edit current room system ini’:

Under the ‘RoomDefaults’ tab, you can change the 'DoubleDoorThreshold' along the bottom:

You can also insert Double Door Base Cupboard' from the options available within a base/wall units:

The default unit will split the doors 50/50:

Changing the ‘Width of LH Door’ automatically resizes the width of the right hand door. Update this for each door by clicking ‘Apply new size’ to see previews of your doors:

Full-width doors
You can create full width doors greater than the double door threshold by using a different style of door.

The above image shows two 700 wide base units - BedCAD will automatically split the doors once the unit width exceeds the double door threshold.

To change the double doors of one of the units to a single full-width door, open the unit’s properties to edit, then click on ‘Style…’

Choosing a full-width door will overwrite the double door threshold in BedCAD:
