Graphics Card information [GPU]

ArtiCAD only makes use of your system’s graphics card (GPU) when using the Virtual Reality (VR) view. When you purchase any machine they will probably come with one of three different types of Graphics Card:

- Nvidia - http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-uk
- Intel - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
- AMD/Radeon - http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

You want to make sure that you have the latest drivers installed on the your PC, depending on which graphics card you have.

If you don't know which graphics card you have you can look in Display Adapters which is in your Device Manager.

To open Device Manager by using the Windows interface:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. Click Hardware and Sound.

3. Click Device Manager. One of the following occurs:

- If you are logged on as the built-in Administrator account, Device Manager opens.
- If you are logged on as a user that is a member of the Administrators group, then the User Account Control dialog box appears, and you must click Continue to open Device Manager.
- If you are logged on as a standard user, a message appears indicating that you cannot make any changes to the devices. Click OK to open Device Manager in read-only mode.

4. Click + on Display Adapters.

NOTE - The graphics card does not affect the speed or quality of Photo Realistic or HD renders.
