ArtiCAD and Windows™

The Operating System that your computer uses is important as ArtiCAD is a Windows based program. Windows 10 is currently the only operating system supported by Microsoft and this is also the only operating system that ArtiCAD supports.

ArtiCAD runs in line with Windows updates so it is important that you keep your machine updated. To check for updates you can search for 'Check for updates' in the Windows Search Bar.

Most modern day PCs are 64Bit, when installing your operating system choose 64Bit when applicable. 64Bit will render faster and allow you to use all of the available RAM
on your PC. 32Bit can be used, but it will only allow ArtiCAD to use up to 1GB of RAM - meaning if your design needs more than 1GB, the program will likely crash due to the limitation of hardware "System has run out of memory."

Our minimum specification requires a minimum of 8GB RAM, although this will not directly increase the render speed it will actually accelerate the general use of the software and the entire machine. If you are using a desktop computer, it is sometimes possible to add more RAM to your Motherboard if you have available PCI ports - speak to an IT professional if you need to know more about adding RAM to your machine.
